Call to Worship
Worship Assistant: Shall we gather at the river?
People: There is a river whose streams make glad the city of God.
Worship Assistant: Shall we gather at the river that flows from the throne of God?
People: Yes! Let’s gather with the saints at the river!
Opening Prayer
God of Creation, you separated the waters from the dry land and called them good. You bless us with water to drink, to refresh ourselves, to cleanse ourselves, to baptize us in your grace. The waters of this earth fill us with wonder and delight.
We confess that too often we have polluted your waters, filling them with filth and contaminating them with toxins. What once was pure and good we have turned foul and nasty. Forgive us for taking the beauty of your creation for granted and abusing our privilege. As you cleanse our souls from sin, so teach us to cleanse the very substance we use for cleaning to restore it as the good part of your creation you intended. Bless our rivers, lakes, and the ocean and renew them by your grace. Amen.

Doxology
Revelation 22:1-7
Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city. On either side of the river is the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, producing its fruit each month; and the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations. Nothing accursed will be found there anymore. But the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him; they will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And there will be no more night; they need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.
And he said to me, “These words are trustworthy and true, for the Lord, the God of the spirits of the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must soon take place.” “See, I am coming soon! Blessed is the one who keeps the words of the prophecy of this book.”
Message: Gather with the Saints at the River
Prayer O Creator God, may the waters that covered us at our birth once again remind us of our creation in you.
Remind us that we are vessels of the waters of hope and that your outpourings have power to heal and make whole our bruised world. Let the living waters of creation, womb, baptism, and Spirit encircle us that we may remember we are yours and be thankful. Amen.
