Call to Worship

Worship Assistant: Worship Assistant:  I Am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God.

Pastor:  Who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Worship Assistant:  Glory be to the Creator, and to Jesus Christ, and to the Holy Spirit.

Pastor:  As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end.  Amen.

Prayer (Worship Assistant):  Holy One, when our world seems to fall apart, we look to you as the glue which holds us together; when friends betray us and family let us down, we look to you as our constant hope; as our church seeks new directions and inches toward reopening after the pandemic, we find our confidence in you. Fill us with your Holy Spirit and grant that we may know peace in the name of Jesus Christ.  Amen.

Doxology

Reading from the New Testament

Colossians 1:15-20

He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation; for in him all things in heaven and on earth were created, things visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or powers—all things have been created through him and for him. He himself is before all things, and in him all things hold together. He is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that he might come to have first place in everything. For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell, and through him God was pleased to reconcile to himself all things, whether on earth or in heaven, by making peace through the blood of his cross.
