The gift of Prayers
When people join the United Methodist Church, they promise to support the church with their prayers, their presence, their gifts, and their service. As we conclude our stewardship drive, for the next few weeks, I want to reflect on the non-monetary ways people support the church.
The first of these is by supporting with their prayers. In a previous church, there were a couple of people I used to visit at a nursing home every few months. When I would pray for them, they often responded by praying for me. What a blessing they were to me! I know that others of you do pray for me. Thank you! Thank you for praying for Mill Plain United Methodist Church. Your prayers undergird our ministry in hidden and vital ways. I invite every person to pray for us.
Pray for the church when we fail you or move in a direction you aren’t sure about. Ask God to give me as your pastor and those in leadership wisdom to discern God’s call to us.
Pray for the church when you are excited by what we are doing. Thank God for the blessings that so many people are to us all through their faith, their love, and their skill.
Pray for the people within our church. We have an email prayer chain which regularly sends requests which come from Mill Plain people. If you would like to be part of that prayer chain email, contact Debi at secretary@millplainumc.org or call the church office at 360-892-2421. And don’t forget to pray for yourself!
