Worship Assistant: The heavens are telling the glory of God
Pastor: The sky proclaims God’s handiwork.
Worship Assistant: There is no speech, nor are there words; their voice is not heard.
Pastor: Yet their voice goes out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.
Opening Prayer (Worship Assistant)
Creator, by a word you brought forth creation and formed us in your own image; in ages past and in present days you have spoken to us through prophets and sages. In Jesus Christ you came among us to speak to us as one of us. We confess that it is often easy for us to ignore your word and close our ears to your calling. Forgive our stubborn refusal to listen and open our ears to hear you speak. Open our eyes to recognize that you have come among us in Jesus, the exact imprint of your very being. Fill our hearts with wonder at the glory of your Majesty. Amen.

Reading from the New Testament
Hebrews 1:1-4
Long ago God spoke to our ancestors in many and various ways by the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us by a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also created the worlds. He is the reflection of God’s glory and the exact imprint of God’s very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become as much superior to angels as the name he has inherited is more excellent than theirs.

Gracious God, form our characters to reflect Jesus who is the exact imprint of your very being. Mold us that we may shine with Christ’s light, live in Christ’s love, and glow with Christ’s faith. Amen.
Closing Song Fairest Lord Jesus UMH #189
Benediction
Now may the Lord Jesus Christ and God our Creator, who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. Amen.
