· Monday November 29
· Monday December 20.
Advent is a time of preparing for Christmas. How will you prepare for the celebration of the coming of the Christ Child? I invite you to join me on a journey as we travel with Mary and discover the gifts she received from Jesus, the same gifts we receive. Imagine Jesus from Mary’s point-of-view—proud of her son, in awe of his mission, guided by love for him as a person. In his book, Not a Silent Night, Adam Hamilton begins with Mary near the end of her life. Then in succeeding chapters, Hamilton looks back at her life after her son was gone, how she felt that day at the cross and His resurrection. Then the story travels back in time as she witnesses the life and ministry of Jesus; and finally, the book ends at the beginning, with the Christ child born in a stable. Our journey together will begin on Monday, November 29, 6:30 p.m. continuing on Mondays through December 20. Contact Melody Mello, melody.mello@comcast.net, for a Zoom invitation. Please order your own copy of the book from your favorite bookseller and read the Intro and Chapter 1 before the first class.
